We call 2013 the "Earthquake Vintage." The 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet is a very concentrated wine with a rich firm structure with great balance. It has flavors and aromas of graham cracker, vanilla, and chocolate croissant. It has a round satiny feel in the mouth and finishes with an orange zest and soft grainy tannins. This wine is juicy and delicious. It would pair very well with a good steak.

When the 2013 Napa Valley Black Label Cabernet was first released in 2016, it was a very concentrated wine with a rich, firm structure and very good balance. The description of aromas and flavors are consistent with the original notes of dried cherry, blueberry, watermelon rind, cinnamon, allspice, black pepper, leather, brown sugar, tobacco, and orange zest. The wine has smooth, fine-grain tannins and lovely notes of chocolate croissant in the finish. This wine is of good maturity and still has many years ahead.

The wine was aged for 24 months in 60% New French Oak and 40% Once-used French Oak barrels. The grapes are from the Clark Claudon Vineyard on Howell Mountain.
